Before you start
Twitter stores each clip in several qualities; we show them to you so you can pick the highest, or the smallest for your phone.
Both links work, from the app or the browser, with or without ?s=20 at the end.
If a tweet contains more than one video, each clip is shown so you can download it on its own.
You don’t need to log in to download a clip from a public account.
Quick fixes
Clips from tweets by protected (locked) accounts can’t be downloaded.
A stream in progress can’t be downloaded; once it ends and is saved as a tweet, it works normally.
After downloading a Twitter / X video
In Safari, a downloads arrow (⬇) appears next to the address bar when the download finishes. Tap it, tap the file name, then choose “Save Video” (or “Save Image”) from the Share button to move it to the Photos app. To save straight to your camera roll without this step, use the QuickSave iPhone Shortcut.
The file is saved to the Downloads folder and appears in your Gallery within seconds. If it doesn't, open the Files app → Downloads. The QuickSave Android app saves to your gallery in one tap.
The file is saved to your Downloads folder on Windows and Mac. Videos are MP4 and images are JPG, so they work with any player or video editor.
