Before you start
24 hours after posting, a Story disappears from the account, unless the owner adds it to a Highlight pinned on their profile.
Stories from private accounts can’t be accessed; downloading is for public accounts only.
Downloading through QuickSave doesn’t use your account, so your name never shows up in the list of people who viewed the Story.
A Story can be an MP4 video or a JPG photo, and it’s saved in its original format.
Quick fixes
Open the Story and tap “⋯” or the Share button, then “Copy Link”; a correct link contains /stories/.
If the 24 hours are up, the owner deleted it, or the account is private, it won’t be available to download.
After downloading from Instagram
In Safari, a downloads arrow (⬇) appears next to the address bar once the download finishes. Tap it, then tap the file name, and from the Share button choose “Save Video” (or “Save Image”) to move it into the Photos app. To save straight to your camera roll and skip this step, use the QuickSave Shortcut for iPhone.
The file is saved to your Downloads folder and shows up in your Gallery within seconds. If it doesn't, open the Files app → Downloads. The QuickSave Android app saves to your Gallery in one tap.
